OUR HISTORY
Historical
The MARCHAND Vineyard was born in Morey-Saint-Denis, on February 24, 1813, where Pierre Marchand, a small winegrower from Reulle-Vergy, a village located in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. Married Marie Jacotier who had inherited a wine property from her father, who died 3 years previously. In 1815 Pierre, 2nd of the name, was born, but his father died on the child's 8th birthday.
Pierre died in 1871 and his son François, born in 1848, succeeded him at the head of the estate.
The latter then passed to François-Joseph, known as Joseph, son of François, then to Emile, and then to his son Claude, the father of the current owners. In 1983, the property expanded further with the acquisition of an old winegrower's house dating from the 18th century, located in the heart of Gevrey Chambertin.
Since 1999, Denis, the second son, has taken over from his father.
